Repertoire 2005

  • Promenade concerts in the area around the village of Bever for Assumption, with as theme Hildegard of Bingen. Chants for terce, sext and nones, from a manuscript from the twelfth century preserved in Dendermonde (Abbey of St Peter and St Paul, MS Cod. 9).

  • Gregorian chant from various thirteenth to fifteenth century sources from Tongeren and Turnhout, where the theme ‘danger’ is represented in the chants chosen, both musically and materially (for instance as a fragment and/or a book-binding).

  • A whole day based on the theme of the patronal feast of the local saint Bavo. Collaboration with Capilla Flamenca and Organum. Gregorian chant from Ghent sources of the fifteenth and seventeenth century.

  • The new CD by Capilla Flamenca, scheduled to appear in 2006, containing Marian motets principally by Obrecht. Appropriate and alternatim Gregorian chant from contemporary French and Flemish sources.

  • An imaginary Marian rite covering the whole year, in collaboration with Capilla Flamenca. An evocation of the Vespers of the Virgin Mary in Advent and services of veneration during Lent, Easter and during the year.

  • Marian chant principally derived from offices, interwoven with a mass by De la Hèle. The source being a fourteenth century breviary (with musical notation) from the monastery of St.-Vaast d’Arras, as well as other contemporary sources from Cambrai, Douai and Amiens.

  • A Pentecostal programme, with a musical illustration of the principal Pentecostal events from the New Testament. Gregorian chant from Spanish sources.

  • The Gregorian repertoire as the point of departure for improvisation within the chant and on the organ.

  • A contemporary reconstruction of the ‘Messe Des Fous’, a form mainly popular in thirteenth century France. Collaboration with the French ensemble Millenarium and with members of the Choeur de Chambre de Namur (Namur Chamber Choir). Gregorian chant from sources in Sens and Beauvais.

  • Promenade concert in the Abdij van ’t Park (Park Abbey), based on the editions of the Leuven printer Phalesius and the Recollectio office of Dufay. Collaboration with the organist Arnaud Van de Cauter.
