NEW CD: TRIDUUM PASCHALE
Recently, a new cd has been released, with music from various periods, but all of it intended for the Triduum Paschale - the three days beginning on Maundy Thursday and ending on Easter morning. The project was initiated by the Flemish abbey community of Westvleteren (where "the world's best beer" is also brewed). The Gregorian chant repertoire, the oldest pieces of music selected, is sung by Ensemble Psallentes, and the polyphonic pieces by Capilla Flamenca. The fact that the brothers themselves are also performing their current repertoire was not inspired by any craving for commercial success, but by their rock-solid faith in the future of their community.
