Paul Schils
Paul Schils was born in Maastricht in 1971. He came into contact with classical music at a very young age via his mother, a music teacher.
His choral singing forms the leitmotif of his life. He took singing lessons as a tenor with Lucienne van Dijck and Bart de Kegel. It was the latter who discovered his particular talent as an alto.
He graduated with a master’s degree in music theory at the Hogeschool in Antwerp.
As tenor he is a regular member of the Vlaams Radiokoor (Flemish Radio Choir) where he works with such celebrated directors as Putnins, Timo Nuoranne, Herve Niquet, Bo Holten, Eric Ericson etc. He is the conductor of the Denderland Kamerkoor from Aalst and the mixed choir Camerata from Dilsem-Stokkem. With the ensemble Psallentes he has toured Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
